Genus Elymnias: A genus with 35 species but only one occurring in the Afrotropical region: E. bammakoo,  a regular species found in the traps but not at any great abundance and with a number of colour forms. Apart from the nominate species thare is only one other subspecies: E. bammakoo rattrayi. Both nominate and subspecies occur at Semuliki.
